My name is Shane Fesler. When I was in middle school I would check out the book "Invention Book" by Steven Caney so often that the librarian would have to change the check out card almost every month because my name would always fill it up. Whenever I read the book I would be fascinated by the origin of a company and what drove them as well as the at home projects they provided. However, I always found myself either modifying or completely reworking the projects because I was curious to see what would work better than what was given and tailor fit them to me.
I tell you this story because even till today I tinker with almost anything I can get my hands on to try and understand the thought process, and eventually end up either breaking the object or refining it to better fit my needs. This process used to drive my Mom crazy because she did not know why on earth someone would want to disassemble and then try to reassemble something that was "perfectly fine" to begin with. However, that is the difference.
I love creating and innovating while simultaneously being able to understand the process behind why something is the way it is. I never settle with anything subpar from expectations and have always tried to make it better. Coming from an athletic background I have always had an interest in wearables and soft-goods. The combination of curiosity and motivation pushes me both on and off the field to wanting to understand. Without sports, wonder, and ethics I would not be the curious disruptive I am today.
